Controlling Material Flow Uniformity in Instrument Micro Screws

2026,03,30
Wrinkles often appear on sidewalls or flange edges, stemming from excessively fast material flow and insufficient blank holder force in certain areas. Instrument Micro Screws design needs to address this through optimization of the blank holder mechanism and flow channels:
Miniature Slotless M0.6 Copper Screws
1. Adjustable Blank Holder Force Structure
Instrument Micro Screws employ elastic blank holders (spring/polyurethane) or rigid blank holders (air cushion/hydraulic), dynamically adjusting the blank holder force—high-strength steel increases the blank holder force to suppress wrinkling, while aluminum-magnesium alloys reduce the blank holder force to prevent cracking. Segmented blank holder rings allow for differentiated control of local blank holder force.
2. Scientific Arrangement of Draw Ribs
Semi-circular draw ribs are placed on the blank holder ring or die flange surface to increase material flow resistance. For asymmetrical parts in Instrument Micro Screws, draw ribs can be added to the side with faster flow to balance the material filling speed.
3. Optimized Die Corner Rounding
The corner radius is 5-8 times the material thickness (for the initial drawing). Instrument Micro Screws use rounded transitions to ensure smooth material entry into the cavity and reduce local stress concentration.
