Micro Screws screws need to withstand complex dynamic loads, and the materials must possess high tensile strength, shear strength, and good impact toughness. Commonly used materials and grades in the industry are as follows:
8.8 grade screws: Base material is 40Cr, quenched and tempered, tensile strength ≥800MPa, suitable for small and medium-sized Display Micro Screws (such as thin plate stretching dies);
10.9 grade screws: Base material is 35CrMo, tensile strength ≥1000MPa, toughness better than 8.8 grade, suitable for medium load dies (such as thick plate stretching dies);
12.9 grade screws: Base material is 42CrMo, tensile strength ≥1200MPa, used for high-strength dies (such as large automotive body panel stretching dies).
Material selection should avoid over-design (increasing costs) or insufficient strength (leading to breakage), and should be judged comprehensively in combination with mold size, load size and working frequency.
